I like the grip better than the Glock, it fits my hand better, and I can shoot it better. It's slimmer than the Glock, so it works better for me in a CCW role. I have most all the Glock .45's. When I was choosing which would be first in the 30 series (my first two .45's were G21SF and G21g4), the 30S's frame is same as 30SF and 30g4. The slide is slimmer on the 30S. But, the frame thickness is what grabbed my attention at first. Slimmer slide but same thickness in the frame.Grip on 36 is slimmer, slide is the same as on the 30S (30S is a 36 slide on a 30SF frame). Flush mag 6 round mag in the 45 shield and flush 9 round mag in the 30S. Flush 6 round mag in the shield, 10 round mag in the 30s. FWIW I took this directly from Massad Ayoobs review of the 30S and comparison to 30 and 30SF "The unloaded original Glock 30 weighed 24 ounces on my scale. So, oddly enough, did the Glock 30SF—“Short Frame”—(front to back) version with the same wide slide. However, this new thin-slide Glock 30S tipped the same scale at only 20 ounces."I now have the G30S that has become one of my primary carry guns, especially in cooler weather. The thinner slide does make a difference. If you have large hands, I use the 10 round mags for pinky support.
