Jul 5, 2020 · I was able to confirm that the Aux battery is dead. Using a voltmeter with a very rudimentary load tester, the Aux battery voltage measured at 12 but dropped almost instantly to 2 with the load applied. It is still under warranty, so it will go to the Jeep dealer when I get home.

Jan 25, 2021 · Only has 1500 miles on it. Volt meter jumps from 12.0 to 14.8. 2nd issue: When I was in 4 low crawling the battery voltage went to 12.9 and the LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY light came on. Then the transmission kicked out of M1 gear and made a grinding noise for a second, then I was stuck dead in the trail at 9v 5 miles in. KEEP in mind if your Jeep drops below 12.2Volts you cannot move anywhere!I just dropped my 2019 2.0T off at the dealer because the aux warning popped up and my ESS has been only lasting for 3-5 seconds at stop lights and turning back on. Interesting, that wasn’t my experience with the Jeep last summer. from what I understood the JL has a smart charging system to improve milage and battery life. As the batteries charged voltage dropped to 12.3-13 or so. Interesting enough, they checked the battery and all checked out. Got out on the road and voltage started behaving itself.

What I did was create a load on the battery (around 40 amps for about 1.5 hours) to get it drained to almost nothing. In the case of this test the voltage was just over 10v and the SOC as reported by the IBS was 11%, that is a very dead battery and likely would not start the engine.
