The SP2022 was not replaced by the P229. They are totally different product lines. The P229 is a "Real" (metal) P-Gun. The SIG Pro is a line of plastic guns that SIG has discontinued. An SP2022 with contrasts sights runs about $450 here in CA. Likely cheaper elsewhere. Honestly, the cost of a slide, barrel, spring approaches the cost of an entire gun. Throw in a cheap guide rod to make the swap even simpler. 9mm rounds in a .40 mag seem hit or miss.
If you want the honest answer as to why Sig doesn’t have more stuff available for the 2022, it’s because it’s an outdated design that fires 2 outdated calibers, and one good one. It’s marketed toward boomers, and boomers don’t care about optic cuts or anything else that people usually want
