Yes, but it's just a quarter and I went to Aldi's last week and still saw about a dozen abandoned carts because people think a quarter is worthless. You best bet I returned all those carts and had enough quarters for weeks worth of gumball machines for my kids! I have yet to see an abandoned cart at an Aldi's. The massive amount of energy these people expend fighting with the cart narc compared to the miniscule amount it takes to just walk your cart back where it goes boggles my mind.
